FROM THE IDEA TO SUNGLASSES

The idea of SHAKA eyewear was born in spring 2017 on the beach of Hawaii.
The aim of SHAKA is to produce sunglasses made of special materials.
In addition to attractive prices, SHAKA eyewear wants to do something good for poor countries and participate in the preservation of the waters and their inhabitants.

SHAKA eyewear has chosen the first collection for the materials wood & carbon.
For the wooden sunglasses SHAKA wants a combination of different types of wood. The mix of the different types of wood gives the glasses an exciting touch. SHAKA naturally takes care that the supplier sells FSC wood to us. The frame for the Wood collection should also not appear solid and bulky. We have optimized the frames to such an extent that they are as thin as possible, but still have enough stability.
For the Carbon collection it became a bit more difficult, because Carbon is already a high-quality and not quite inexpensive material. Carbon has the big advantage that it is extremely light and offers a great wearing comfort for glasses.

The sketches of the first sunglasses collection began with this not so easy challenge. The first prototypes of the first sunglasses collection were produced in mid-2017. After minor optimizations, production of the first SHAKA eyewear sunglasses collection began at the end of 2017.

When you buy sunglasses, $ 10 will be donated.
SHAKA has looked at and contacted various organisations for these donations. The organisations have been carefully selected.

Seashepherd:
Seashepherd is committed to the destruction of habitats and the slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans.

Ocean Preservation Society (OPS):
OPS is an organization which points out and draws attention to problems with pictures, documentations and art.

SOFDI:
SOFDI is involved in various projects in Africa and has chosen us as a partner for the construction of the water sources.

After the intensive year 2017, we will now start selling our first collection of sunglasses in May 2018. We are taking a very positive approach to sales and will develop further eyeglasses and we hope to be able to give our partner organisations great pleasure through our donation programme as early as 2018.

We would like to thank our customers already now which part of our lifestyle will become.
